A Place for Men: Real Help, Real Hope, Real Conversations

June is here ~ a month that brings the opportunity to celebrate Father’s Day. For some, it’s a day of joy and appreciation. For others, it brings feelings of longing or even heartache. However we experience this day, one thing is clear: a father’s presence in a child’s life truly matters.

At House of Grace, we recognize that not every family includes a father in the home. And that’s okay. Whatever your family situation looks like, we’re here to offer support with care, compassion, and understanding.

Many people are pleasantly surprised to learn that we offer services for men as well as women. We’re here for the man who’s trying to navigate the emotions and responsibilities of an unexpected pregnancy, and for the one who wants to better support his partner. We also offer mentorship for men who simply want someone to talk to ~ someone to help them think through big questions, grow in confidence, and prepare for what lies ahead. If you’ve experienced difficult emotions after a pregnancy loss or abortion, you’re not alone. We’re here for you too. And if you’re feeling overwhelmed about becoming a dad, we’re here to help you step into fatherhood with strength and support.

One couple came to us not because they were in crisis, but because they wanted a safe, encouraging space to grow and prepare together for their baby’s arrival. The words below come from the father, who graciously shared their experience:

“I want to express our heartfelt gratitude to House of Grace for the incredible support they’ve provided to my wife and I as we prepare for the arrival of our first baby. We discovered them through Facebook, and from the very beginning, they have been an invaluable resource. Their support sessions gave us a safe space to talk about our lives, our relationship, and what it means to become parents. They took the time to really get to know us and offered personalized advice that helped us feel more confident about this exciting new chapter. The books on parenting and baby care they provided were incredibly insightful, and we’re also so thankful for the free prenatal classes they arranged for us at Haven Pregnancy Support Clinic in Victoria. The maternity clothes House of Grace offered were a wonderful and thoughtful gesture, and they were the only place that provided these services as a free resource.

We truly appreciate their generosity and kindness during this special time in our lives. What really stood out to us was how welcoming they were, especially since I’m not as religious as my wife. Despite our differences, I never felt excluded or uncomfortable. Their inclusive and compassionate approach made us feel truly supported, and for that, we are deeply grateful.”

It’s an honour to walk alongside this young family as they enter their chapter of parenthood.
