Free Pregnancy Tests in Duncan, BC
Think You Might Be Pregnant?
The easiest way to find out if you are pregnant is by taking a urine pregnancy test. While blood tests and ultrasounds can also confirm pregnancy, these require a doctor or nurse practitioner requisition — and if you don’t have health coverage, they can be costly.
At House of Grace, we offer free, laboratory-quality urine pregnancy tests capable of detecting pregnancy as early as two days after a missed period.
If your test result is positive, your Client Advocate will provide time and space to discuss your situation and explore all your options — parenting, adoption, or abortion — in a safe, confidential, and nonjudgmental environment.

All appointments and services are free, private, and compassionate. Reach out today to book your free pregnancy test appointment.
Please note: Client Advocates at House of Grace are not medical professionals. We recommend confirming any test results with a qualified healthcare provider.

What Is a Pregnancy Test?
A pregnancy test detects hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin), the hormone produced during pregnancy. This hormone can be detected in:
-
Blood tests – as early as 6–8 days after conception
-
Urine tests – typically 1–2 days before your next expected period
Our urine-based tests are accurate, fast, and easy — with 99% reliability when taken correctly.
Types of Pregnancy Tests
There are three main types of pregnancy tests:
1.Urine Tests – Detect hCG in your urine (used at House of Grace and pharmacies)
2. Blood Tests – Ordered by a doctor; can detect pregnancy earlier and estimate hCG levels
3. Ultrasound – Confirms pregnancy and estimates gestational age, also requires a requisition
Our tests cannot determine how far along you are, but they can give you quick and reliable confirmation.
Which Pregnancy Test Is Best?
All urine-based pregnancy tests work in essentially the same way — by detecting hCG. When taken according to instructions, they are about 99% effective.
How to Know If You Are Pregnant
You might be pregnant if you experience:

-
A missed period
-
Tender or swollen breasts
-
Nausea or changes in appetite
-
Fatigue or dizziness
-
Frequent urination
-
Unexpected weight changes
The only way to know for sure is to take a pregnancy test. Our free, laboratory-quality tests can detect pregnancy two days after a missed period and are over 99% accurate.

When Do Pregnancy Symptoms Start?
Symptoms can begin a few days after conception, or not appear for several weeks. Sometimes, the only sign is a missed period.

Common symptoms include:
-
Nausea or vomiting
-
Fatigue
-
Food cravings or aversions
-
Tender breasts
-
Mood swings
These symptoms can also be caused by PMS or stress, which is why a pregnancy test is the only way to know for sure.

How Reliable Are Pregnancy Tests?
Urine pregnancy tests — like those used at House of Grace or sold in pharmacies — are highly reliable when used as directed.

-
Positive results: Very likely accurate
-
False positives: Rare
-
False negatives: More common, usually when the test is taken too early, is expired, or instructions aren’t followed
If you test negative but your period hasn’t started a week later, take another test or book another free appointment with us.

When to Take a Pregnancy Test
Some pregnancy tests can detect hCG about 6–7 days before your expected period, but for best accuracy, test after the first day of your missed period.

If you test early, it’s best to do so first thing in the morning when your urine is most concentrated — increasing the chance of accurate results.

Yes. If sperm enters the vagina, there is always a possibility of pregnancy, even the first time.
